WebObits.com Reverses Online Obit Business Model; Raises $500,000

SUMMARY: No summary available
As ContentBiz.com revealed in an interview with NAA’s
Rob Runett in our 4/11 issue, obituaries are one of the
few types of content newspapers are making real pay-by-
the-drink online sales with. Now, WebObits.com plans to
turn that business model on its head by getting families
to pay for their loved-ones obits to be listed.
(“Newsworthy” deaths get in for free.) The company,
lead by former AP and Boston Globe reporter Michael
Putzel, has just raised $500,000 in angel funding from
incubator E2Enet.
