longtime advertising columnist Stuart Elliott? In this exclusive
interview, Elliott shares his secrets about how to get your story some ink
(or airtime on his podcast) and avoid it going straight
to the trash.

PR News' Legal PR Awards
If you do PR for a law firm or a government agency, now's your
chance to disprove the stereotype that the industry is stuffy
and devoid of imagination. Maybe your company was quick to
respond to a crisis or create a dynamic campaign that achieved
its intended objectives? Show off your creativity and expertise
by getting some PR for your PR. You have six new categories to
choose from, including top spokesperson and best PR and counsel
team. We are certain you can do better than using the Virginia
Slims slogan "You've Come a Long Way, Baby" to title your
campaign, as one 2005 winner did.

NASFM'S Retail Design Awards 2007:
Ooh la la. Rub shoulders with artists who value the left side
of their brains as much as the right side. This year, the National
Association of Store Fixture Manufacturers have added a visual
presentation category. So, if you were ever enthralled by
Bergdorf Goodman's holiday window display, here's an opportunity
to inspire others. Other categories include grocery stores and
casual and fine dining establishments. If you're serious about
winning, the sponsors suggest hiring a professional photographer
to take pictures of your project: It will be critiqued primarily
on those images.

The Webby Mobile Awards
Yes, the Webbys have gone mobile. In addition to their regular
categories (as we mentioned last week), the Webbys now have
awards dedicated to users who access the Internet through their
mobile phones. The Webby Mobile Awards will feature three
categories: Listings & Updates, News & Entertainment and Mobile
Marketplace, which will honor sites selling products and
services. No rendering problems either: The entries will
actually be judged on mobile devices.
Deadline: Dec. 15
