Ooops! SAAB.co.uk's Many Marketing Faux Pas

SUMMARY: No summary available
Much as we would have loved to, we just couldn't find the
time to go scouring the Web for marketing faux pas whilst
we were away on our hols in Greece. Thank goodness some of
you managed to do it for us!!

Take saab.co.uk, for instance, whose site recently
irritated Mark Chinery of Zincweb (Graphic eMarketing). A
SAAB fan, he got all excited over the £199 per month offer
that they've been plugging on national radio, and he called
up their URL to investigate (just like the ad suggested).
Imagine his dismay when he found absolutely no mention of
the promotion anywhere on the Saab site. All he found, in
fact, apart from a site infuriatingly fiddly to navigate
thanks to its countless little buttons (all too close
together), was a spelling mistake on the first page, and a
link to the Classic FM live Webcast that did nasty things
to his connection.

Well, Mark – since you visited the site, SAAB have
corrected their spelling error. But we couldn't find any
reference to the promotion either (very poor show on SAAB's
part), and, since we were using a laptop sans mouse, we had
even more trouble with the fiddly buttons. You say you
eventually gave up and rang your local dealer for a
brochure. We think most people would have done the same...
