Exclusive: Powerize CEO Speaks Out on Hoovers’ Acquisition

SUMMARY: No summary available
When we heard Hoovers acquired Powerize last week, we
immediately pestered ContentBiz subscriber Ed Addison,
who just happens to be the CEO over at Powerize, with a
few questions:

Q: How will this affect Powerize's current branding?

Addison: Powerize will continue to exist as a subsidiary.
Its branding will be useful in the enterprise market and
with co brands.

Q: How do you plan to use the deal to enhance your
marketing programs?

Addison: The Web sites will merge and the user bases will
as well. Powerize will also have the rights to sell
Hoovers content to the enterprise market.

Q: Will Powerize content be included for sale on the
Hoover's site? Is a complete integration planned on that
end?

Addison: Yes. The destination sites will merge by
September 30. Powerize will continue as the
tools/integration arm for the enterprise market.

Q: How does this position you moving forward?

Addison: Hoovers already strong business portal will be
enhanced by Powerize content and its business model
offering substantial premium content for free by
advertising. Powerize users and newsletters add to
Hoovers ad inventory. Both companies become stronger
faster to dominate a fast moving market.

Q: Any other ways it affects the publishers who have
contracts with you?

Addison: Hopefully increases their revenue!!
