Weekly List of Shame: Martha Stewart Sending Junk Email

SUMMARY: No summary available.
The most alarming offer of the week: One junk emailer is selling 23,700 email addresses of marketers who have purchased Pay Per Click ads via FindWhat.

(The FindWhat folks will probably freak when they learn about it. Talk about a junker destroying trust in your brand!)

More brands who are new to our junk email box this week:
Martha Stewart Living magazine
Harley Davidson
Shoes.com
Ancestry.com
Avon
National Geographic
Disney Magazine
Buy.com
McAfee
Shering-Plough - Coppertone
Hooked on Phonics
Universal Studios Orlando
Literary Guild
BMG Music Service
Dell
The NPD Group
The Gantry Group

Brands who have been in our Junk box multiple weeks now:
Ford
Doubleday Book Club
Fredericks of Hollywood
Gevalia Kaffe
Fox Sports
Norton (several different offers)
Body & Soul Magazine
Family Circle magazine
Budget Living Magazine
GamePro magazine

BTW: Marketers working for some of the brands above have already contacted us to get samples of the junk so they can stop the CPA and affiliate mailers who are sending to bad lists on their behalf. Go for it!

Note: How it works: We have a junk mailbox here at MarketingSherpa that is not used by any human being, although the address is posted on one of our Web sites.

When mail hits that box we know for a fact that no one ever signed up to receive it. Once a week we pluck through the box, looking for brand names and add them to our List of Shame.
